July 2005 had me back at Middleton for some unfinished business. Luck would have it that I had a business trip to make to Providence in Rhode Island, on the east coast. So I arranged to fly to Madison and rent a plane from Rich Morey and fly to the east coast and back.
The next few pages are an account of that trip. The significance is that I can happily claim to have flown coast to coast across the US and back in a light aircraft within a 12 month period.
The lessons learned on the West Coast Adventure came flooding back on the trip east which itself became an adventure.
The other major difference is that “co-pilot” was not another pilot but my 16 year old son Matt which gave an extra layer of responsibility to my decision making.
So all in all, an interesting time, with the chance to apply the previous learning as well as the chance to learn a bit more too. Read on for Part 2 of the great Coast to Coast adventure.
